A Message From
Reverend Margaret:
Here we are another year! Yes, that's right we made it by the power
and grace of God Almighty. I bet just like so many others, and me
you thought you were not going to make it through. But, thanks to
God His mercy endure to all generations. Surely, we can testify
that the Lord's been good. As the Songwriter said "I've had
some bad days. I've had some hills to climb. I've had some weary
days and some lonely nights. But when I look around and think things
over. All of my good days outweigh my bad days. I won't complain".
What about you, will you complain? It is easy for us to do, complain
that is, because our flesh always wants to be pleased and satisfied.
But the Lord does not want us to complain, He said in all things
give thanks, for this is the will of God concerning you. This scripture
and many others speak of God's sovereignty in our lives. Jeremiah
29: 11 said it like this "For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to
give you a future and a hope." I know sometimes it feels and
even looks like its over, no way out and no future, but when we
call upon the Lord and pray, he will listen to us. And furthermore
when we seek Him we will find Him when we search for Him with all
our heart. (12,13) There is something about trials and tribulation
that causes us to pray more intensely and seek more diligently for
answers to our cares; that I often wonder if we didn't have any
trials, would we seek Him at all? Well only you can answer that
for yourself.
I know and believe that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly
more than we can ask or think, but its according to the power that
works

within us. This power
is not human strength or knowledge, nor does it fizzle out, but a
power greater than we are, that is the power of the Holy Spirit. He
is the third person of the Godhead. He was promised to the Church
at the time of Jesus' ascension into heaven "But you shall receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you;" (Acts 1:8) Feeling
powerless "tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued
with power from on high." (Luke 24:49)
This Month's Verse
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing
that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Good News at the Shepherd's Nook
Feeling a little sluggish lately? Join us for a soulful workout,
absolutely FREE!
Starting February 11, 2003 and every Tuesday thereafter,
we will host an "Hour of Power", a spiritual workout
in prayer and praise. We will begin promptly at 8:00 AM.
All are invited to attend. Inquiries may be addressed to Rev. Margaret

"Book Review Hour".
We will review one book a month, with the first review Saturday
March 8, 5:00 PM. Our first book review, presented by a husband
& wife team, will be "Power of a Praying Husband and Power
of a Praying Wife" Stormie Omartian. We will make every
effort to bring in different presenters when possible. If you would
like to volunteer to present, please contact Rev. Margaret. There
will be opportunity to ask questions and purchase books.
